Starting off by reflecting on the whole project, I am very happy with how everything turned out. Even if some parts were harder and more mentally draining, there was a rainbow after the storm. It was a fun project to do and create. The harder part was coming up with the idea for the movie, but once that idea was planted in my head, no one could take it out. The other challenging part of this project was the script and figuring out how to project what is in my mind to viewers. In the end, I managed to get over that obstacle after I got the hang of it and the whole idea was created in my head. That is enough for the reflection, as I will also talk about the skills I developed during this project in the creative critical reflection blog.

Regarding the feedback, everything was very positive, but there were some small details that I asked my friends to tell me if they didn't like, what to change, what not to change, and overall. I will make a bullet point list of things people said and how I told them my opinion on why I did that and if I would change it. I also had a word with my tutor about each and every feedback, and we were of the same opinion regarding the feedback. I posted the film opening on my close friends' (Instagram) where I have my closest friends, and I ask them these things usually. I told them to be as honest as possible.

  • The first feedback was about adding subtitles to my film opening because of the accent; maybe people will not understand. My response was I don't want it to be too full, and I feel that as the viewer, you can understand very well. My tutor's response was that it won't fit, and since it is in English, I don't think you need to add subtitles.

  • You can see how the protagonist is looking a bit downward to read her lines. My response to this was that this was the video that turned out best, and also where you can't really see her looking downward that much, and that I can't change it now anymore. As I also said in a previous blog, we also added pillows so the laptop stands higher on the bed. My tutor said that you can't really tell that she is looking downward.

  • Someone else told me that something doesn't feel right/match at the line of "What if they knew the photo took 20 tries, that it's all just for a few likes, just to feel something." The comment was about something missing and that it doesn't go/sound nice there. My response was that at the beginning, for me, it also didn't sound very matched, but I didn't know what to put there instead, and after letting it sit a bit, it started making sense. These things I can't change anymore, only if it's something about editing. My tutor's response was that it sounds very good, and she doesn't really understand where/what is missing.

  • When she is scrolling in bed on her phone, you should add a screen recording there as well so we can see what she is scrolling through. My response was that there are already so many screen recordings, and the image is going to be very full if I add that as well. My intention was to only show the light on her face, indicating that she is not sleeping but scrolling. My tutor said that there will be too many screen recordings and that she saw movies with too many, and she got a bit irritated by them.

  • The last comment I had was about the music, that it feels like it is too happy and doesn't really fit. My response was that I will have a look at it again, ask my tutor as well, and see if there is a need to change the song again. My tutor's feedback was that the song is okay, but you could add another song and transition to it when the notification pops up, and it can be an even sadder song to make the vibe change drastically.

These were all the feedback, but with these feedbacks also came comments like: it is very nice/very nicely edited, very professional editing, shocked by the result, very beautiful, a strong message, and very nicely transmitted, etc.I want to say that I am very happy with the feedback, and I am honored to get such feedback. I appreciate it. This doesn't mean that I will change everything that people told me, but I wanted to see their ideas, and I thanked them for every feedback I got.
