I was searching for a good editing platform that has more features than CapCut, as I heard that CapCut is more for short clips. I searched on Chat GPT to give me the best editing platforms, even if I have to pay, and how much that would be. Chat GPT suggested DaVinci Resolve 19 to work with, as it has a lot of features without even paying, and it's a very professional site. I started working on it, but since it was a new app, I had a lot of searching to do (ChatGPT was my friend), watched videos (https://youtu.be/SrJOE2pEp7A?si=fsY4Zzpi8CnAnlb2 https://youtu.be/WVzSJ5Y5Y-k?si=IuqWdgtuHcVya1QB). In the end, I managed to do all the hard work of cutting and editing the videos in only 12-15 hours. I think all the hours added up, but still not the full time it took me, because I still edit here and there, small things like sound, etc. The first day of editing was a very long one as I got to edit the first 30 seconds in 5 hours... as I didn't know the app and how to use it with all the research and trying things.

What I noticed, and I didn't know what was happening, was that my laptop would make the video glitch as it couldn't handle that much. I asked my dad if the video, when exported, would also be this glitchy, and he said no, but my laptop is too slow because it's an office laptop.

Here in this photo, you can see me editing the screen recording that I added on top and how I made it smaller and put it in the corner:

(me trying to figure it out.)

(me managing to do it) X- meant left or right, and Y- meant up or down. For the position setting

Colour and Filters

Filters I did not use, but I did edit the lighting of one of the videos. However, I still didn't manage to get it at the right lighting so you can see the landscape in the back of her.

Sound

For the sound, I made it quieter as the mic from the camera was very good and made the sound super powerful. I tried to get the sound to -10 as I read in the video that that is the best level, and my video would go up to 0. That was the first thing. Then all the other sound effects came, such as the notification sound, which I got from YouTube, the party sound at the end when the title shows up (also from YouTube), and in the end, the background song, which was very hard for me to find. I changed it 2 times because my cousin, who was also the protagonist, told me it is too happy for the video (I didn't think that, but I was like, if someone from outside tells me that, they have a better first look than me, who sees it so many times). I asked ChatGPT what background song would be good for this script, and I attached the file there. And it gave me some options based on the scene, but I only chose one that would go best with the whole story.

Here are the ideas it had for me:

I used the song "Your Hand in Mine" by Explosions in the Sky for the whole story.

And at the end, when the notification sound popped up, I stopped the music in the background. Here is how I edited that...

For the title, I had a look with my tutor at some fonts that I would like and think would look nice. She gave me two links which I can take a look at (https://fonts.google.com/ or https://www.dafont.com/search.php?q=hello&page=1&text=Filtered+lives), and I had a play on DaFont (second link). Here, I found some nice things I like, but also some options that I want to show you here, which I knew from the first time seeing them that they would not work. Here are the fonts:

This was my favourite font that I saw and thought would work perfectly!

Then this one, which you can tell from the first look it doesn't work at all! As its a Christmas theme font.

I also like this font, but something about it doesn't give me vibes of social media! The next one is similar to this one.

But it's a bit bolder, and it looks like the pencil was cut in the middle.

That is everything for fonts, but what I wanted to tell you is that even when you look for them and you think that is it, like for me with the first font, I want to tell you that on DaVinci, there were a lot of different title options. I found one that, when my tutor first told me about this idea, I told her that I didn't think I would like how it looked. Let me tell you now that the glitchy title look goes amazingly with the movie opening/idea itself.

That was everything for editing.
