Hi. For my 9-frame blog post, I chose a movie that is close in terms of what I want to do for my film opening about social media, called Airplane Mode. Then, the second movie I chose was Sisters, a comedy. The theme was to do a genre I like, and I was debating a bit between comedy and romance. For my last movie, my tutor said to do a genre that I don’t really watch often, so I chose Action/Adventure, and the movie I picked is also among my top favorite movies.
__________
Airplane mode - 2020

Let’s start off with Airplane Mode, also a movie from which I got a lot of inspiration and ideas. It starts with a scene directly showing the room and the surroundings of the main actor, with the theme of social media presenting Netflix, the directors, etc.
Then the scene where she wakes up, and she is all messy and has a morning face. On the way to the bathroom to get ready, she looks at her phone, and on the screen next to her, you can see very nicely edited how many new followers she got, likes/comments.
Then there is the title of the film, which can show us how upset she is with her phone, and by showing the title, it can give us an idea to put the airplane mode on! Then we also get a background of her by showing the posts that are on her Instagram page, that she works in fashion and has a boyfriend as well. I like a lot how they edited the post on the background of the room and not necessarily showing her phone!
Jumps right back into the scene from the bathroom of her doing her makeup/getting ready for the day, but then instead of also showing her outfits, she jumps right back in bed and starts a live video of her waking up and saying good morning to everyone! This shows us a lot about how she sees herself and how social media presents how fake your life has to be!
_____________
Sister - 2015

Now let's do a reflection on the movie SISTERS!!
It starts off by presenting the production and the studio, which is Universal. Then it moves to showing a coffee shop, and we assume it’s a place the actor comes to often, with a very rhythmic song that gives the watcher a very happy feeling, assuring us we are definitely watching a comedy!!
Then we see the actor coming out of the shop and seeing a man she assumes is a homeless guy, only from the way he looks. The way she approaches him can give us an idea that she works in medical care, and we can already tell that she is of a very high class from the way she looks very put together, etc.
Then he stands up and leaves with more words, and she sees he is actually in a good state and starts complaining to him and judges someone else by the way they look again because they are carrying a bag of trash!
Then we get to see the house she lives in, and we realize why she misjudged everyone today by the way they look. Then we see that she has good technology and that even her parents had a good working class because of the way her dad shows her a new watch he got!
____________
Red Notice - 2021

And for my last 9 frames, we have Red Notice. Start off by introducing who presents the film, the production company, and then all the actors, director, etc., while the storyline in the back is told with pictures showing.
From the music and the photos, we get an idea that it’s a mystery with adventure about some eggs that Cleopatra was given by a loved one! Then we get an overview that there are 3 eggs, but 2 of them stand out, so we can assume they are already found.
Then we see someone creating an egg, but we don’t know exactly what it means or what is going to happen.
There we have my 9 frameworks. I chose all movies in different genres, and we see all the different openings which suit best for all the different genres. I love all the movies I chose. I also wanted to be familiar with them so I can explain them better. The reason I chose these movies is that I loved them from the first time I watched them, except Sisters. I didn't really know what comedy movie to pick, so I chose one I didn't know. It wasn't my favorite movie to watch, but it gives you a clear understanding that you are watching comedy. I really like the idea of presenting in the beginning all the producers, etc., but a thing that I wouldn't want to include in my film opening is a long storyline in the beginning like in Red Notice. I perfectly know it is a mystery and adventure storyline, and you need to get an understanding, but I especially get bored very easily, so I think if you do have a storyline, make it as short as possible.
