How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

"The genre is social media. As simple as the topic may seem, much effort is required to ensure the message is powerful and not questioned. Most of the time was spent trying to find the right way to transmit this powerful message to people while making it as realistic as possible so people can truly relate and see how influenced we are by social media. The part I wanted to highlight by creating this film opening was the struggles a person on social media faces and what people usually don't see, but also how social media has influenced our minds into always wanting more and thinking that our life is nothing compared to others. Additionally, I aimed to create curiosity about what will happen next with the girl when they hear the party in the background, showing that in life, even if you want to change, there will always be days when you fall back.

Some conventions used in this film opening are not extraordinary but are elements you could find in other movies or most movies. The use of a title made it more social media-themed, while also including the production company and the names of other roles that were part of the movie.

The representations in this movie were meant to convey the challenges of social media regarding mental health, comparison, anxiety, etc., with reference to people with a big following on social media but also generalizing it to people who are on social media, and how it influences our minds into thinking we have to be someone or have the most perfect life so people will believe in us and follow us for how amazing we are. But in the back of your mind, you have problems in the family, you struggle with mental health/bodyimage, you feel like you have no purpose, etc. How I tried to include all of these was through the strong message she (as the influencer) wanted to send to her following on YouTube by opening up about how she is feeling. Also, the message at the end that pops up where we see her reaction gives us an idea that it's hard to go back, as this is also nice but draining, and that sometimes we fall."
